In general, the techniques used in rhinoplasty are divided into two as open technique or closed technique surgery. Surgeries performed with open and closed techniques have advantages and disadvantages depending on the situation.

In general, the procedures applied to the cartilage and bone are the same as the closed technique. Open rhinoplasty technique can be preferred in patients with advanced deformity or a history of aesthetic surgery, which we call secondary surgery. The biggest advantage of the open rhinoplasty technique is that it provides a wide view and application opportunity to the surgeon. However, the recovery period of nasal tip edema and bruises is longer compared to the closed rhinoplasty technique.
Closed rhinoplasty: In closed rhinoplasty, the incisions are inside the nostrils. Although the surgical field of view is less in operations performed with the closed technique, there is no possibility of a suture scar visible from the outside. In addition, the recovery period is relatively shorter compared to the open rhinoplasty method.
