Is there a difference between male rhinoplasty and female rhinoplasty?

There are aesthetic differences between the male nose and the female nose. The criteria for this are generally the angle that the nose makes with the lip. While it is 90 degrees in men, this angle is slightly more in women. That is, a woman’s nose should be more upturned than a man’s. In plastic surgery, the surgical principles applied in male or female rhinoplasty are the same; however, the amount of dimensions and angles varies here. The tip and width of the nose are more prominent in men. The nasal ridge and nasal tip passage should be unclear and the nasal lip angle should not have a feminine appearance.

Structures called concha, that is, nasal flesh, provide heating and humidification of the air inhaled through the nose. Enlargement of the concha, that is, hypertrophy of the concha, can also be confused with diseases such as adenoid and septum curvature among the people.

The nasal concha, which are located in three rows on the side walls from front to back in the nasal cavity, especially in the lower part, can usually grow due to allergic reactions or secondary causes of septum curvature. Problems that cause nasal congestion, such as nasal concha and septum curvature, are simultaneously correctable problems with nasal aesthetics.
