Cartilage Curvature Surgery
The septum is the anatomical structure on the inside of the nose that divides the nose into two regions from the middle. Normally, it is necessary to divide the nose into two equal parts and to be able to breathe equally from both nostrils. However, in 70-80% of people, there is a curvature (deviation) in the septum, which is inherently structural or develops as a result of traumas over time, and these patients are diagnosed with ‘septum deviation’. The operation performed to correct the curvature of the cartilage in the nose is called ‘septoplasty’ operation.
