One in 18 people in the UK have coronavirus
According to the latest data from the UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS), around 3.5 million people in the UK have coronavirus.

It was stated that the increase in Covid-19 cases was caused by the rapidly spreading sub-variants of the Omicron variant of the virus, called BA.4 and BA.5.

According to the UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA), the hospital admission rate for the week ending 10 July was 17.9 per 100,000 people.
